APCO 2015 Gets Record Numbers

APCO 2015 was truly a success with a turnout of more than 5,700 attendees and exhibitors. Attendees came from as far away as Senegal, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Australia representing 30 countries. Attendance was the highest it’s been in the last seven years and the exhibit hall was one of the main features with 282 exhibiting companies. APCO Convenes Experts to Advance Security of Public Safety Apps

On June 2, APCO International hosted a workshop in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Commerce and Public Safety Communications Research Program (PSCR). The workshop was a joint effort of APCO and staff from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to address data security issues for mobile applications designed to serve public safety. Public safety professionals, app developers, security experts, and others gathered to consider various use cases, identify the data that would assist response, and apply security concepts to evaluate risks if the data was compromised.
