Silent Key: Melissa E. Prosser
Will County, Illinois, Public Safety Telecommunicator Melissa E. Prosser, 26, of Bourbonnais, passed away April 5. Fox 32 Chicago reported that Prosser died after a traffic accident on Interstate 55.
Prosser, an APCO member, was a telecommunicator for WESCOM, the Western Will County Communication Center.
APCO Files Response to BART 4.9 GHz Waiver Request
On March 31, APCO submitted a filing with the Federal Communications Commission in response to a request from the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) to waive certain rules governing the 4.9 GHz band.

Congressman Dunn, along with his fellow 2026 9-1-1 Impact Award recipients, exemplifies a strong commitment to advancing public safety communications.

APCO Life Member Thomas A. Catino of Colonie, New York, passed away March 27 at the age of 77.
The U.S. Army veteran spent 20 years in the Colonie Police Department. He retired as lieutenant director of communications, and he served as Atlantic Chapter president of APCO.
APCO Seeks Comments on Candidate National Operational Standard Emergency Communications Common Disposition Codes for Data Exchange
This standard establishes a common set of disposition codes to support accurate and consistent sharing of incident outcome information across emergency communications centers (ECCs), jurisdictions and disciplines.
