APCO Needs Your Help With Standards Development Research!

Please Participate in Our Survey Regarding Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN).

PSAPS |  Manufacturers & Telematics Service Providers

For PSAPs

The Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN) joint APCO/NENA Standards Development Committee Writing Group is requesting feedback from the public safety communications community in understanding which data items are most important for PSAP call-takers when handling AACN calls (calls from vehicles after a crash or other incident). The results will be included in an upcoming candidate for a new American National Standard.

AACN calls carry Vehicle Emergency Data Set (VEDS) data. For each of the fields that may be sent, please indicate the importance to the PSAP: "Low," "Medium," or "High." PSAP Importance should be gauged on how valuable each element (field) is to PSAP call takers. Each element is indicated in bold in the survey.  VEDS includes many fields, not all of which can always be sent in every call, but please consider how important it is to have a field’s information.

Each question must be answered before the survey response can be submitted.  The survey is expected to take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All feedback is important to this effort and appreciated. Please respond by close-of-business, Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

For Vehicle Manufacturers and Telematics Service Providers

The Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN) joint APCO/NENA Standards Development Writing Group is requesting feedback from the Vehicle Manufacturers and Telematics Service Providers in understanding how common support for future vehicles will be for each data element.  This is for future vehicles that support NG-AACN, not current vehicles.  For each of the elements associated to the Vehicle Emergency Data Set (VEDS), indicate the level of support in the future; i.e. "All,” "Most," "Some," or "None."  The results will be included in an upcoming candidate for a new American National Standard.

Each element is indicated in bold in the survey.  VEDS includes many fields, not all of which can always be sent in every call, but please consider how common support by your organization can be expected.

Each question must be answered before the survey response can be submitted.  The survey is expected to take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All feedback is important to this effort and appreciated. Please respond by close-of-business, Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
