The new European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that is effective on May 25, 2018 is compelling organizations across the globe to modify their data processing requirements. A key change is that individuals must provide consent to the collection of their personal information and they have expanded rights as individuals to control the use and storage of their personal data. All such personal data is governed by our GDPR-compliant privacy policy and related policies and practices that are available on the APCO website.

In order to process your request, or transaction, APCO International will be asking to collect some personal information from you which may include your name, e-mail address, phone number, organizational affiliation and postal address. APCO uses the personal data it collects to provide you with the service that you have requested, or to respond to an inquiry that you have made

APCO retains personal data for so long as it is necessary for us to comply with our legitimate business requirements, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, to protect our assets, to provide services that you have requested, and to enforce our agreements.

Service Project

In order to graduate participants must complete a 1-year long service project while in the program. The service project must benefit the Association and/or the industry at either the regional, state or national level. Examples of acceptable service projects are: projects or items of significant contribution that last the duration of the year’s RPL program that serve our industry at the regional, state or national levels, participation in an APCO Institute workgroup, training certification programs (P33), advocating for legislation that supports the role of public safety communications, and other similar industry or APCO activities that benefit and enhance public safety communications at a regional, state, or national level.

The RPL Program is 12 months in length. You will need to show consistent work every month for the entirety of the RPL Program. Please provide your projected timeline goals below:

To adhere to the requirement of the RPL Program and to gather the information necessary to make your RPL Service Project a success, you will need to correspond with several different individuals, organizations, agencies, etc. Identify who specifically you will be working with, and what specific centers are involved.
