Brian LaMonica has dedicated his career to public-safety communications and the broader public-safety profession. He began serving his community in 1995 as a volunteer firefighter and EMT before entering the public-safety communications field in April 2000.
Brian currently serves as Communications Supervisor for the Southampton Village Police Department in Southampton, New York. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of public-safety communications roles, including Public Safety Telecommunicator, Communications Training Officer, CAD Administrator, Radio System Administrator, and Communications Supervisor. This broad experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of the technology, operations, training, and leadership needed to support effective emergency communications.
Brian has been actively involved in APCO at both the chapter and international levels. At the chapter level, he has served as 1st Vice President, President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President, and Executive Council Representative. In 2023, he also served as Chair of the Atlantic Chapter Conference.
At the international level, Brian has served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Member & Chapter Services Committee, Group Leader, and East Coast Regional Representative on APCO’s Board of Directors from 2022 to 2026.
Brian remains committed to advancing the public-safety communications profession, supporting those who serve in the field, and promoting strong leadership, professional development, and innovation within the emergency communications community.
