Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is seeking comments for the candidate American National Standard (ANS) titled 700 MHz Deployable Public Safety Trunking Systems.
This standard expands on best practices developed by the National Regional Planning Council (NRPC) and covers both the provisioning of deployable trunked radio systems and the programming of subscriber equipment when providing mutual aid.
“This new standard represents a critical advancement in our ability to deploy interoperable public safety communications during emergencies and mutual aid operations,” said Stephen Martini, president of APCO International. “By building on the proven framework established by the NRPC, we’re ensuring that first responders can seamlessly communicate across jurisdictions when lives are on the line.”
The public may review and comment on this candidate standard from July 23 through September 6 via the APCO website.
