This session addressed key concepts of Next Generation 9-1-1, including interoperability, reliability and redundancy, cybersecurity and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Participants were provided with several statements and asked to determine whether each was fact or fiction, to dispel common myths about what NG9-1-1 is. Benefits and challenges of NG9-1-1 were also discussed, including the need for new workforce skills necessary to accommodate new NG911 technologies and solutions.
