The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m. Eastern Time. Radio and television broadcasters, as well as cable, satellite and wireline video providers will transmit a test message in both English and Spanish to help FEMA and the FCC assess whether EAS is operating as intended and if a national alert can be delivered reliably across the country. The message is only a test; the public need not take any action.
