Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International recently notified 108 APCO members that they were selected as APCO’s Silent Key and Commercial Partner Scholarship Program award recipients. The scholarships, totaling over $96,500, were provided to members to advance their professional education in the field of emergency communications.
The scholarship program helps APCO members obtain the training needed to excel in their public safety roles and to advance their careers. The awarded funds allow members to access educational opportunities through the APCO Institute, including courses and leadership development programs. The scholarships are made possible through the generous contributions of partners and supporters, most notably the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions.
“It’s an honor to recognize these APCO members with scholarships that support their professional development,” said APCO International President Stephen Martini. “By investing in members’ education, we’re helping individuals to grow in their careers while strengthening the emergency communications workforce. These award recipients represent the future of our industry, and their continued professional growth will help shape the next generation of public safety leadership.”
The APCO Institute Advisory Committee reviewed and scored all scholarship applications. The scholarships were awarded to APCO members at all professional levels in the emergency communications field, each playing a crucial role in supporting public safety communications. APCO’s scholarship program is offered annually, and applications for next year’s scholarships will open on January 15, offering members another opportunity to invest in their professional growth and strengthen their impact on the communities they serve.
