APCO Life Member Thomas A. Catino of Colonie, New York, passed away March 27 at the age of 77.
The U.S. Army veteran spent 20 years in the Colonie Police Department. He retired as lieutenant director of communications, and he served as Atlantic Chapter president of APCO.
Upon retiring from the police department, Catino began a consulting business building communications/radio systems for police, fire and emergency management systems in the region. He was instrumental in the implementation of Albany County 9-1-1.
He is survived by wife Judy Skicke Catino, daughter Jennifer Catino and sister Kate Arnold.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, April 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie.
