CO-HOSTING

APCO Institute utilizes co-host agencies and chapters for several reasons. As the co-host agency, you know what training is needed in your area. By hosting a class, the training that is needed in your area can be delivered to your door. The local co-host also adds “local flavor” to the presentation by providing a familiar classroom site in familiar surroundings. Local co-hosts assist us with contacting interested agencies, locating accommodations for out-of-town students and instructors, and acting as the local contact for those who have questions about the area.

In return, APCO Institute provides one complimentary registration for the class that you co-host.

You may choose to co-host any of our APCO Institute courses. We require three (3) months advance notice so that we may properly market the class to the national and international audience, and make all of the preparations to ensure your class is a success.

Classes available for Co-Host include:

bullet Public Safety Telecommunicator 1, 6th Edition
bullet Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 - Instructor, 6th Edition
bullet Communications Center Supervisor
bullet Communications Training Officer
bullet Communications Training Officer - Instructor
bullet EMD Concepts
bullet Emergency Medical Dispatcher
bullet EMD Instructor
bullet Fire Communications Course
bullet The Telecommunicator's Role in Homeland Security

As the co-host, there are a few things that we require of you and your agency:

bullet Completely fill out and return the APCO Institute Co-host Application
bullet Contact local agencies in your area to promote the class
bullet Distribute APCO Institute provided announcement flyers to local agencies
bullet Provide a suitable classroom facility for the class
bullet Receive and hold the shipment of student manuals and materials for the class, and ensure those materials are available to the instructor at least one hour prior to the start of the class
bullet Introduce the class and the instructor on the first day of class
bullet Assist the instructor as needed

APCO Institute reserves the right to determine the exact dates for the class, and the minimum number of students. Classes that do not meet the minimum required number will not be conducted. This helps ensure the availability of the instructors and resources needed to provide a great training experience.
