CTO Standard Open for Review 

The Call Center Standards Committee has recently focused its efforts on establishing a Minimum Training Standard for Communications Training Officers.  A draft standard has been written and is available for your perusal and comments at http://www.apcointl.org/about/911/standards.php. Comments citing specific sections should be submitted to Julie Righter at JRighter@lincoln.ne.gov by December 31.

APCO International is working on a project to educate the public about the dangers of using 9-1-1 for non-emergencies.   If you have any tapes of non-emergency calls to 9-1-1 that can be broadcast on national media please contact Courtney McCarron at mccarronc@apco911.org or 202.833.9600.

2007 PA APCO Annual Conference

The 2007 Pennsylvania APCO Annual Conference will be held March 26-28 at the Willow Valley Resort and Conference Center in Lancaster, PA.  The Call for Presentations deadline is February 1.  For more information visit www.paapco.org.

Region 14 (Indiana) Public Safety Regional Planning Comittees

On January 24, the 800 MHz Regional Conformance and Review Committee (RCRC) meeting will convene at 10:00a.m. at the Indiana Department of Transportation Traffic Management Center.  Immediately following, Region 14 will convene its 700 MHz Regional Planning Committee meeting.  Both meetings are open to the public.  For additional information, please contact Alex R. The $4.4 million dollar contract requires the team to develop and validate requirements for the NG9-1-1 system, define a system architecture, and develop a transition plan that considers responsibilities, costs, schedule, and benefits for deploying IP-based emergency services across America.
