Comm Center and 9-1-1 Services Welcomes New Addition

The The Comm Center and 9-1-1 Services Department is proud to announce the addition of Stephen J. Wisely to the Department. Steve will be serving as a subject matter expert/consultant for the department and will be involved in a range of technical issues including the new Project LOCATE-VoIP (Project 41). Steve was previously the Commissioner of Onondaga County (NY) Department of Emergency Communication and retired from Verizon after 34 years service overseeing Enhanced 9-1-1 computer systems.

Steve has been an active member of APCO since the late 1970's including serving on several APCO Committees and was appointed Delegate at Large to the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Chapter. In addition, Steve was the 2005 APCO International Center Director of the Year and has over forty-five years of active volunteer firefighting experience including serving as the chief officer and president of two fire departments.

"In addition to his extensive public safety communications experience, Steve brings a wealth of technical expertise to this department," said Comm Center and 9-1-1 Services Acting Director Bob Smith. "His knowledge will allow us to enhance the level of service we provide our membership and the public safety communications industry at large. We are excited to have him onboard."
