APCO Re-Releases PBX/MLTS Whitepaper

APCO International previously released a whitepaper on accessing 9-1-1 from Private Branch Exchanges (PBX) and Multi-Line Telephone Systems (MLTS).  There is a need for authoritative action on the part of public safety leaders in respect to this issue.   PBX/MLTS is an issue which has been overshadowed by other technologies, but the problems associated with this technology have not been fully addressed.  The whitepaper provides information which supports the need for rapidly moving forward with appropriate measures.  Please visit http://www.apcointl.com/government/positions/issuepapers/Multi-LineTelephoneSystems.pdf to read the whitepaper.  For further information, contact Cindy Dietz, PBX/MLTS Subcommittee Chair, at 717-840-2911 or via e-mail at cadietz@ycdes.org.
